CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With a week until the beginning of the 2024 campaign, Harvard women's volleyball was picked to finish fourth in this seasons Ivy League Preseason Poll, the conference announced today.
The Crimson landed in fourth by collecting 76 total points, finishing 19 behind the third-seeded Brown. Yale (126) and Princeton (108) claimed the top two spots while both collecting first place votes with 14 and two, respectively. The bottom half of the poll was rounded out by Cornell (76), Dartmouth (54), Penn (33), and Columbia (23).
As Harvard enters its 32
nd season under the direction of
Jennifer Weiss its coming off of its best season since 2015 with a 15-9 record and an Ivy League tournament appearance in 2023.
The 2024 Crimson will be led by captains
Corinne Furey and
Lindsey Zhang and joined by a core returning group including sophomore
Ryleigh Patterson who was one of five to record triple-digit kills in 2023.
Harvard will open its season on Friday, September 6 as it hosts Stonehill at 7:00 p.m. in its annual Harvard Invitational. The Crimson schedule will consist of nine regular season contest before it begins its quest for a conference title against Dartmouth on Friday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Malkin Athletic Center.
