CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball will look to close its non-conference slate strong this weekend as it heads to Delaware State for a trio of contests.
The Crimson will open weekend action against the host, Delaware State Hornets, on Friday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. in Dover, Del. The following day, Harvard will meet New Jersey Institute of Technology and George Washington at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET, respectively.
What to Know
- Harvard is currently 4-2 through the first two weekends of action, having defeated Stonehill, Merrimack, UNH, and Northern Illinois.
- Last weekend the Crimson dropped its first two matches of the season before bouncing back with a 3-1 victory over NIU.
- Brynne Faltinsky has had a strong start to her junior campaign, leading the team with 80 kills through six matches. By averaging 3.64 kills per set, Faltinsky ranks third in the Ivy League.
- Rocky Aguirre, who recently broke into the top 10 all-time in career assists in program history, leads the team with 203 total. Her 8.12 assists per set average ranks third in the conference.
- Ryleigh Patterson is carrying her success from her first-year into this season quickly, totaling 41 kills and a team-leading 26 total blocks.
- As the returning leader for digs, Lindsey Zhang continues to record the most for the team, accumulating 88 so far through six matches played.
- The Crimson matchup with Delaware State and George Washington will be the first in history between the squads.
- Harvard will look to extend its lead in the all-time series versus NJIT to 3-0, having beaten the Highlanders 3-0 and 3-1 in 2006 and 2007.
