Women’s Ice Hockey Drops 2025 Beanpot Third Place Game Against No. 12 Boston College

BOSTON, Mass. – For just the second time in program history, Harvard women's ice hockey took the ice at the famed TD Garden, facing off against No. 12 Boston College in the 2025 Dunkin' Women's Beanpot Third Place Game.

Despite a spirited effort, the Crimson came up short against the Eagles on neutral ice, dropping the Beanpot Third Place Game, 4-1. In her 20th appearance of the season, sophomore defender Maria Pape scored her second goal this year in the third period against the Eagles.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The 2025 Dunkin' Women's Beanpot Third Place Game between Harvard (2-16-2, 1-12-1ECAC) and Boston College (16-7-1, 12-4-1 Hockey East) started with the Crimson finding an attacking opportunity in the first five minutes. First-Year forward Ella Lucia evaded multiple defenders, forcing a save from Boston College keeper Grace Campbell.

From there, Boston College took control, scoring the first three goals of the contest as the first period ended with the Eagles holding a 3-0 lead. The Crimson recorded six shots over the first 20 minutes at TD Garden.
The second period saw the Crimson continue to work hard on the offensive end, producing an additional 10 shots on target. Harvard came close to its opening strike with just under 11 minutes to go in the second frame. Sophomore defender Kaley MacDonald fought past multiple Eagles in the offensive zone, as her shot was deflected wide of the left post. Harvard held the Boston College attack to just six shots on goal in the second.

In the opening moments of the third period, Harvard kept applying pressure on the offensive end, recording four shots in the initial two minutes of the frame. With six minutes down in the final frame, Harvard earned a power play opportunity, as Boston College scored a shorthanded goal to extend the lead, 4-0.

With 5:38 to go at TD Garden, the Crimson capitalized on the power play. Senior forward Gabi Davidson Adams found Pape flying towards the front of goal, as the Shaker Heights, Ohio native converted the chance for her second goal of the season. Davidson Adams now has five assists on the season, second on the Crimson this campaign. The final period of action saw Harvard outshoot Boston College, 12-10.
