CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's ice hockey will play its sixth and seventh home games in the month of January this weekend when it hosts a pair of top 10 opponents at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. The No. 5 Colgate Raiders (20-6-0, 11-3-0 ECAC) will be first to take on the Crimson (2-16-2, 1-12-1 ECAC) on Friday night before the No. 6 Cornell Big Red (14-4-3, 10-2-2 ECAC) come into town for a Saturday afternoon clash. These will be the 12
th and 13
th games against ranked opponents for the Crimson in 2024-25.
It's going to be an action-packed weekend at the Bright as the Crimson is set to welcome in the PWHL's Boston Fleet on Friday night for "Meet the Fleet" night before hosting the second annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration on Saturday afternoon.
Last Time Out
The Crimson played in the third-place game of the 2025 Dunkin' Women's Beanpot on Tuesday (Jan. 21) against the No. 12 Boston College Eagles. It was a rematch of last year's third place game when the Crimson defeated its cross-town rival in a shootout to take home the first win on TD Garden ice in Beanpot and college women's hockey history.

Emily Davidson made 18 saves, allowing only one goal in 40 minutes played between the posts.
Series History vs. Cornell/Coglate
Active Crimson skaters have had success against Cornell in their careers, as five players have racked up multiple points against the Ivy foe.
Gabi Davidson Adams owns three points with a goal and two assists, while
Jenna MacDonald also has three points with three assists.
Kaley MacDonald has potted a pair of goals against Cornell and picked up an assist in the last matchup in November. Harvard is looking for its first win agains the Big Red since the 2022-23 season but still owns a 60-37-6 record against the Ivy foe in the all-time series.
Five active skaters have points against Colgate, with
Brooke Manning and
Zoe Boosamra being the only two in the group with a goal against the Raiders. Harvard is looking for its first win over Colgate since the 2020 season but still holds the advantage in the all-time series, 31-20-3.
COOP Stucent-Athlete of the Week
First-year blueliner,
Keira Ley, was awarded with the COOP Student-Athlete of the Week Honors earlier this week after recording her first career multi-point game against Union (Jan. 18). Ley dished out a pair of assists in the contest to accomplish the feat and improve her season point total to three.

Emily Hamann and Sophomore
Angelica Megdanis scored their first career goals last week in the games against Union and Boston University, respectively. The duo became the 16th and 17th players to record a goal for Harvard this season. That pushed Harvard into a tied for the third most goal scorers on a team in the ECAC
Tuffy Named to National Watch List
Ainsley Tuffy of Harvard women's hockey was honored yesterday by being named to the National Goalie of the Year Watch List, an award that is sponsored by the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association. Tuffy has been a standout for the Crimson women's hockey team this season, bursting onto the scene by posting a 2.50 Goals Against Average (GAA) and a .923 Save percentage in 11 games played in 2024-25.
Lucia Makes History
First-year forward,
Ella Lucia, wrote her name in the NCAA record books against Dartmouth, scoring just 11 seconds into the matchup to record the T-8 fastest goal in NCAA history. Lucia joins former Harvard great Kristin Della Rovere '23 on the list, who also scored 11 seconds into a game against Dartmouth in the 2022-23 season.
Kaley MacDonald went on a tear down the stretch of the first half to grab a hold of the team lead in points with nine. The sophomore blueliner has scored two goals and dished out seven assists – which is also a team-best - on the year.
On Fire
Just over halfway through her first collegiate season, first-year
Ella Lucia is beginning to her hit her stride with the Crimson. The Michigan native recorded a point in five consecutive games, scoring two goals and notching three assists over the stretch from Nov. 23-Jan. 4. Lucia became the first first-year to accomplish the feat since Kristin Della Rovere '23, who hit the mark in the 2018-19 season. It is also the longest point streak for the Crimson since Becca Gilmore tallied a point in 10 straight games during the 2021-22 season.
Blocking Shots
The Crimson's ability to get in shooting lanes and block shots has been a staple of the team's defensive success during the 2024-25 season. Currently, Harvard leads the ECAC and ranks third in the nation with 18.1 blocked shots per game.
Individually,
Jenna MacDonald ranks in the top 10 in the nation and tied for fourth in the ECAC with 2.5 blocked shots per game. First-Year forward,
Scout Oudemool, has also helped out in the defensive zone, blocking 1.2 shots per contest to ranks among the top eight highest shot blocking forwards in the nation.
