What to Know
- The Crimson returns to the pool deck for the first time since it finished in third place at the four-day Minnesota Invitational, which was contested from Dec. 4-7, in Minneapolis. Harvard tallied a final score of 897.50, which was behind No. 9 California (1,873.50) and No. 23 Minnesota (1,390), and ahead of Denver (795.50), Rutgers (702.50) and UNLV (559).
- Harvard had several notable performances at the Minnesota Invite, among them the second-best 50 and 500 free times in school history. Sydney Lu finished with a 50-free time of 22.56 and Alexandra Bastone completed the event in 4:41.69. Samantha Holtz also posted the second-best platform dive since 2017-18, with a score of 250.95.
- In dual meets, Harvard is a perfect 5-0 (4-0 Ivy League) on the season, but has not gone head-to-head with an opponent since Nov. 22, when it defeated Columbia in its Pride Meet at Blodgett Pool, 206-93.
- The Crimson is in search of its sixth and seventh straight dual-meet wins. The last time Harvard won six in a row was in 2022-23, and the last time it won seven consecutive dual meets was in 2012-13, when it finished the campaign at 9-0.
- Harvard is facing the Rainbow Wahine for just the third time, having split two previous meetings. UH defeated Harvard, 76-67, in Jan. 1986. The Crimson evened the series with a Dec. 1994 victory in Honolulu, 152-75.
- Hawai'i comes into the meet following a 179-83 Big West loss at UC Santa Barbara, which dropped UH to 2-2 (0-1 Big West) on the year.
- Harvard is facing Arkansas for the first time and is set to compete against an SEC school for the only the fourth time. The Crimson dropped dual meets to Florida in 1989 and 1995, before getting into the win column against South Carolina in 2015.
- The Razorbacks are coming off a lengthy layoff having not competed since Nov. 21-23 at the Iowa Invitational, where it finished in third place. In dual meets, Arkansas is 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference.
