CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (3–10, 2–3 Conf.) fought a tough battle but ultimately fell to Princeton (9–4, 4–1 Conf.) in its second Ivy League matchup of the weekend. (25–15, 26–24, 21–25, 25–16), on Saturday night at the Malkin Athletic Center.
How It Happened
Both teams brought high energy to the Mac as the Crimson looked to build off Friday's momentum. The Tigers came out strong in the opening set, jumping ahead 8–4 before Harvard battled back to tie things up at 10–10. Despite the push, Princeton regained control and closed out the first set, 25–15. First-year Sofia Rossi was a bright spot early, tallying eight kills in the opening frame.
The Crimson showed resilience in set two, trading points with Princeton in a thrilling back-and-forth stretch that brought the score to 24–24. The Tigers capitalized on key late errors to narrowly edge out Harvard, 26–24, taking a two-set lead.
Harvard came roaring back in the third set, finding offensive rhythm and forcing Princeton into multiple timeouts. The Crimson led for much of the set, highlighted by a key block from Taylor Larkin that sealed a 25–21 win and sent the match to a fourth set.
In the final frame, the Tigers pulled ahead midway through, creating separation at 19–13 despite Harvard's defensive efforts. The Crimson continued to fight through long rallies, but Princeton's consistency at the net closed out the match, 25–16.
