CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis will host the Ivy League Qualifier Tournament and have four players competing this weekend beginning Friday, October 24.
What to Know
- This tournament will serve as a qualifier for the ITA Conference Masters being held Friday, November 7 through Monday, November 10 in San Diego, Calif. The winners of the singles and doubles draws will advance to the tournament in two weekends and battle for a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
- Each Ivy League squad will send four singles players and two doubles teams to compete in Cambridge this weekend.
- Claire Shao, Charlotte Owensby, Kavya Karra, and Polina Krumkachev will represent the Crimson in the singles draw. Karra will join teammate Stephanie Yakoff in the doubles draw as the No. 2 seed, and Owensby and Shao will compete as the No. 3 doubles pairing.
- Shao and Karra have had a nearly unblemished start to their campaigns, each having tallied 5-1 records in singles action.
- Owensby has had a hot start to her senior season, registering a total of 11 victories throughout singles and doubles action.
- Karra and Yakoff are looking to make their return to the NCAA Tournament this season after becoming the first Crimson duo to do so in 18 years. The junior pairing is 4-2 so far this season.
