Women’s Tennis Hosts its Final Home Event of the Fall Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis will hold its final home event of the fall season as it hosts Boston College and Brown at the Harvard Fall Invitational.  The Crimson will compete on Friday and Sunday of the three-day event. 

What to Know

  • The Crimson has had a strong start to its 2025-26 season, accumulating 34 singles wins and 20 doubles victories across four tournaments.
  • Charlotte Owensby came out on the right foot for her final campaign, having compiled a record of 9-4 in singles and an impressive 10-1 in doubles record.  Most recently, Owensby won the doubles title at the Ivy League Qualifier with teammate Claire Shao.  The two will now move on to the ITA Conference Masters to compete for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. 
  • Stephanie Yakoff has been nearly unstoppable in her junior campaign with 17 wins across singles and doubles action.  Yakoff is 9-1 in singles, including going a perfect 6-0 at the ITA New England Regionals. The title at the tournament earned her a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in her career. 
  • Kavya Karra and Claire Shao have both had solid starts to their individual seasons as each holds 6-2 records. 
  • The duos of Karra/Yakoff and Kim/Owensby have each recorded six wins so far in the young season.  Owensby is also a perfect 4-0 with Shao.  As a team, the Crimson is 20-10 in doubles action. 

Next Up

The Crimson will compete for the final time ahead of the NCAA Individual Championships next weekend as it travels to the ITA Conference Masters in San Diego, Calif. and the ITA Sectional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C.
