CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University men's soccer became the first team in 2025 to post a shutout against No. 2 University of Vermont as the Crimson and Catamounts played to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night at Jordan Field.
Playing in the first game of a three-game homestand and in its non-league home finale, the Crimson (3-4-3) nearly broke the tie inside of the contest's final 10 minutes before the hosts and the Catamounts (8-0-4) – the defending national champions – saw out the clean sheet with Vermont remaining undefeated on the season.

Lucian Wood registered his second clean sheet on the year.

How It Happened
- The Crimson generated chances in the 17th and 20th minutes as a shot from Savva following a free kick from Palacio was blocked in the 17th minute before Savva sent a free kick just over the bar in the 20th minute.
- Senior Matus Vician closed the first half with a shot on goal from a low angle in the 45th minute.
- Wood made an extended save in the 56th minute, diving to his left to push away an attempt from inside the penalty area.
- Harvard nearly broke through in the 81st minute as a shot from Savva on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper carried just wide to the left of the goal.
- The Crimson continued to pressure the Catamounts in the waning moments as sophomore Xavier Tanyi drove a shot with pace just off target in the 87th minute, earning a corner kick following a deflection.
