CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior goalkeeper
Cullen MacNeil made four saves in his third shutout of the season as Harvard University men's soccer earned a point in a 0-0 draw with No. 24 Cornell University on Saturday afternoon at Jordan Field.
Playing in its home finale, the Crimson (5-5-5, 1-3-2 Ivy) remained in contention for a spot in the four-team Ivy League Tournament behind its tie with the nationally ranked Big Red (11-2-2, 4-1-1 Ivy).
Posting its fifth clean sheet as a team this year, Harvard earned a point against a top-25 side for the second time this season alongside a 0-0 draw with then No. 2 Vermont on Oct. 7.

Harvard Highlights
- Senior goalkeeper Cullen MacNeil made four saves in the shutout, including three saves in the second half. He posted his third clean sheet of the season and his seventh shutout of his career.
- Among the Crimson's field players senior defender Rustin Khosravi and sophomore center backs Alexander Castel and Tim Langenbahn all played the full 90 minutes, contributing to Harvard's fifth shutout as a team in 2025.
- Senior Ethan Veghte tallied a game-high four shouts while first-year Alejandro Palacio notched three shots.
- For the match, Harvard led in shots (13-12) and corner kicks (6-3) while Cornell held a narrow edge in shots on goal (4-2).

How It Happened
- Harvard challenged Cornell early in the match, totaling seven shots inside of the first 22 minutes of the match. The stretch included a shot on goal from senior Marcos Ojea Quintana, three shots from Veghte, and a shot that carried just wide to the left from Palacio.
- MacNeil made a save on a shot from inside the box in the 38th minute to keep the Crimson and Big Red level at 0-0 entering the half.
- In the first half, each side registered seven shots, one shot on goal, and three corner kicks.
- Veghte sent a header just wide off in the 63rd minute following a free kick from Palacio.
- The Crimson continued to pressure the Big Red inside of the final quarter hour as senior Juho Ojanen fired a shot just off target in the 77th minute before junior Dylan Tellado drove a shot on frame that required a reaction save in the 79th minute.
- In the 79th minute, Ojea Quintana received a red card following a second yellow card as Harvard played with 10 men for the remainder of the contest.
- MacNeil stood tall for three saves down the stretch, making stops in the 79th, 85th, and 89th minutes to maintain the clean sheet.
