Men's Hockey Rolls Past Vermont for Fourth Straight Win

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Five different goal scorers found the back of the net in a 5-1 win over Vermont on Saturday night, as Ted Donato is now just one win away from tying Coach Cleary's program record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Crimson allowed the first goal of the game after a bouncing puck in front landed on a Catamount stick, giving Vermont a lead just over four minutes in.

Harvard bounced right back, as a strong forecheck from the fourth line led to a quick equalizer. William Hughes picked off a pass at the blueline and threw a shot on net, where it was deflected in by Marek Hejduk for his second goal of the season.

Just over a minute later, another Vermont turnover ended up in the back of their net. Aidan Lane got enough of a chance in the slot to put a puck on goal, and it was eventually kicked in by the Catamount netminder for Lane's third of the year.

Mick Thompson added Harvard's third of the period after a quick faceoff win created a one-timer opportunity from the point. Casey Severo won the draw back to the blueline, where Ryan Healey made a move to generate space before sliding a backhand pass to Thompson, who fired through traffic for his third goal of the season.

Casey Severo scored the lone goal of the second period on the power play after a great feed from Lucas St. Louis. The sophomore defenseman waited as Severo drifted to the net and wired a pass that deflected off the senior's stick for his fifth of the season.

Between the pipes, Ben Charette was strong once again. Despite Harvard being outshot 20-11 through two periods, the Crimson carried a three-goal advantage into the third.

Harvard killed a penalty late in the second and another early in the third before Philip Tresca converted on an odd-man rush at the end of the kill. Tapping home a pass from Matthew Morden, Tresca netted his fifth of the season to put Harvard up 5-1 midway through the third.
