PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Despite a late surge, men's water polo fell to No. 14 Princeton, 13-10, in the NWPC Championship game on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 7-3 at halftime, the Crimson mounted a steady comeback and narrowed the deficit to two goals early in the fourth quarter.
Down five with two minutes remaining in the third, Dean Strauser sparked the rally with a goal, followed by back-to-back tallies from Jack Burghardt and Strauser to make it 10-8 with five minutes to play.
Princeton countered with two goals to extend its lead to 12-8, a cushion that proved enough to secure the championship despite Harvard's continued pressure.
Making its second appearance in the NWPC title game in the last three seasons, Harvard closes its 2025 campaign with a 20-10 overall record.
