CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball will close out its five-match homestand this weekend with its final Ivy League back-to-back at the Malkin Athletic Center of the season. The Crimson will first face Yale on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET, before welcoming Brown on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 6:00 p.m. ET. Saturday's match will also serve as Senior Day, where the team will honor its three seniors,
Brynne Faltinsky,
Hannah Nguyen, and
Peyton Hollis, for their hard work and dedication to the program over the past four years.
What to Know
- The Crimson went 1–1 last weekend, sweeping Columbia in three straight sets (25–22, 26–24, 25–13) before falling 3–0 (25–17, 25–17, 25–17) to Cornell.
- Sofia Rossi led the offensive effort in both matches, recording 11 kills against the Lions and 17 versus the Big Red. The first-year continues to pace Harvard with 187 kills on the season, averaging 2.84 per set, seventh best in the Ivy League.
- Ali Farquhar and Brynne Faltinsky each reached double-digit kills (10 apiece) in the win over Columbia.
- Sophia Wei posted a career-high 27 assists against Columbia and added 25 more against Cornell.
- Taylor Larkin and Ryleigh Patterson anchored the front line, each tallying six total blocks across the weekend.
- The Crimson continue to lead the Ivy League in blocks, averaging 2.40 per set. Larkin (second) and Patterson (fifth) both rank inside the top five for blocks by averaging 1.24 and 1.03, respectively.
- Harvard trails 39–46 in the all-time series against Brown and looks to add a win after falling 3–0 to the Bears earlier this season.
- The Crimson trails 27–53 all-time versus Yale and aim to end the Bulldogs' eight-match win streak in the series.
