CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Men's water polo fell to No. 14 Princeton, 12-9, in its regular season finale on Sunday afternoon at Blodgett Pool. With the result, the Crimson closes the regular season at 19-9 and secures a first-round bye heading into the CWPA playoffs.
In a tight matchup, timely goals from the Tigers proved the difference in a back-and-forth battle that resulted in a season split between the two teams. Despite a late push from the Crimson, a five-goal third quarter from Princeton helped maintain its advantage heading into the final frame.
Lukas Peabody scored twice in the fourth quarter and Mason Hunt added another to cut into the deficit, but the Tigers' defense held firm in the closing minutes.
