Skiing Alumnus Drolet ’24 Qualifies for 2026 Winter Olympics with Team Canada

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University skiing alumnus Rémi Drolet '24 has punched his ticket to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, earning a spot on the roster of Team Canada for cross-country skiing, Nordiq Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee have announced.

Now a two-time Olympic qualifier after competing for Team Canada at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Drolet concluded a decorated career at Harvard in 2024 finishing his time with the Crimson as a three-time All-American, three-time NCAA qualifier, and 2023 NCAA Champion. He garnered NCAA Today's Top 10 honors in November of 2024 for his exceptional accomplishments in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.

As a senior in 2024, Drolet captured First Team All-America accolades with a fourth-place finish in the men's 20k classic at the NCAA Championships. He also garnered First Team All-EISA, Team MVP, CSC Academic All-District, and Academic All-Ivy laurels.

During the 2023 season, Drolet won the men's 20k classic at the NCAA Championships for First Team All-America honors and also took seventh place in the men's 10k freestyle for Second Team All-America plaudits. He collected both CSC Academic All-America and CSC Academic All-District accolades.

Drolet earned EISA Nordic Rookie of the Year and qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2020 before the 2021 season was canceled due to COVID-19. He then took a leave from collegiate skiing during the 2022 season to compete for Team Canada at the Olympics.

The 11 athletes qualified for Team Canada based on meeting the criteria outlined in Nordiq Canada's Internal Nomination Procedures for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, including strong performances at the Nordiq Canada 2026 Olympic Winter Games Trials, which took place December 14-16 at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre in Vernon, British Columbia.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first Olympic Winter Games at which the men and women will race the same distances, including the 50km mass start.

Cross-country skiing will take place February 7 to 22, 2026 (Days 1 to 16) at the Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium in the Val di Fiemme region.

Prior to being named to Team Canada, all nominations are subject to approval by the Canadian Olympic Committee's Team Selection Committee following its receipt of nominations by all National Sport Organizations.
