MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving senior
Anya Mostek set the new program standard in the 50 free on the opening day of the Minnesota Invitational.
Prelim Highlights
- Mostek broke her own school record in the 50 free, finishing the race in 22.44 to come in third place. The senior's performance erased her old school record of 22.45 from last season.
- Kiley Wilhelm became the first Crimson swimmer to post an NCAA qualifying time, finishing the 200 IM in 1:57.70, which was good for second place. It was also the third-best effort in program history.
- Carolina Daher was Harvard's top performer in the 500 free as she registered a time of 4:44.28. The first-year's third-place performance was the fifth-fastest in school history.
Finals Highlights
- Harvard won the A-final of the 200 free relay with a time of 1:29.58. The quartet of Mostek, Sydney Lu, Sarah Beckman and Blythe Wieclawek turned in the second-best mark in program history.
- Daher and Alexandra Bastone both recorded NCAA qualifying times in the 500 free. Daher improved upon her prelim time and finished the final in fourth place with a time of 4:42.98 (No. 4 all-time at Harvard). Bastone, meanwhile, came in fifth and completed the race in 4:43.44.
- Wilhelm went faster than she did in the 200 IM prelims, finishing the A-final in 1:57.13 to turn in another NCAA qualifying time and come in fourth place. Aliana Marakovic also competed in the A-flight and finished in seventh (1:59.89).
- Mostek matched her school-record performance in the 50-free prelims with another 22.44 effort in the A-final. The senior finished in fourth place.
- The Crimson finished the swimming events by taking third in the A-final of the 400 medley relay. Mostek, Stephanie Iannaccone, Lu and Wieclawek completed the event in 3:38.59 to log the seventh-best time in program history.
- On the 1-meter diving board, Nina Janmyr came in fourth with a score of 285.30. Christina Shi, meanwhile, came in eighth place (244.80).
