MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving recorded three NCAA qualifying times during the finals session on the third and final day of the Minnesota Invitational. The Crimson finished in third place with 1,352 points in the six-team field. No. 6 California won the meet with 1,874 points and No. 21 Minnesota was the runner-up with 1,616.50 points. Denver (867.50), Rutgers (811.50) and UNLV (584.50) rounded out the team standings.
Prelims Highlights
- Anya Mostek and Kiley Wilhelm advanced to the A-final of the 200 back when they finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Mostek turned in a time of 1:56.83 and Wilhelm completed the event in 1:57.25 (No. 10 all-time at Harvard). Both performances were season bests.
- Aliana Marakovic posted the field's fastest time in the 200 breast, finishing in 2:12.53 (No. 5 all-time at Harvard). Gabriella Augustyn also advanced to the A-final with a fifth-place and season-best time of 2:13.55.
- Harvard earned three spots in the A-final of the 200 fly when Wilhelm, Sydney Lu and Hazel Mouhidin finished 4-5-7. Wilhelm turned in a time of 1:59.07 (season best; No. 10 all-time at Harvard), Lu finished in 1:59.39 (season best), and Mouhidin completed the event in 2:00.26.
Finals Highlights
- Alexandra Bastone earned an NCAA qualifying mark in the 1,650 free, logging a time of 16:23.81 to finish in fourth place. Carolina Daher also submitted an NCAA qualifying time, finishing in fifth place with a time of 16:24.74, which was the third-best performance in school history. Mouhidin (17:05.88) and Carlie Rose (17:23.23) also competed in the final and came in 12th and 14th place, respectively.
- Mostek came in third place in the A-final of the 200 back, posting a season-best time of 1:55.94.
- Blythe Wieclawek turned in the 10th-best 100-free time in school history, finishing in 49.77 to come in third place in the B-final. Kristin Hakonardottir (50.55) and Sarah Beckman (50.90) finished in seventh and eighth in the B-final.
- Marakovic, after recording the Crimson's fifth-best 200-breast time in the prelims, returned to the pool and came in second place in the A-final, finishing in 2:11.35. The first-year now owns the No. 2 time in Harvard history. Augustyn came in fifth place in the A-final, completing the event in 2:13.71, and Stephanie Iannaccone was eighth (2:16.38).
- In the A-final of the 200 fly, Wilhelm recorded an NCAA qualifying time of 1:55.91, which was the third-best effort in the field. The sophomore's performance was also the second-best in school history. Lu, meanwhile, came in fifth (1:58.47) and Mouhidin finished in eighth (2:03.09).
- Harvard closed the three-day meet by taking second in the 400 free relay. Mostek, Lu, Wieclawek and Wilhelm finished the race in 3:16.59 to register the third-fastest mark in school history.
