CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Basketball sophomore guard
Robert Hinton has earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors after scoring 30.5 points per game last week, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Hinton tallied 30.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game last week, while shooting 55.8 percent from the field and 81.3 percent on free throws. Hinton scored a career-high 35 points – the most for a player in the Ivy League this season – with eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals at UMass (Dec. 3), while shooting 12-of-22 from the field and 11-of-12 from the free throw line. He followed that with 26 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals at Furman (Dec. 6), while shooting 12-of-21 from the floor.
Hi 35 points at UMass marked the most points an Ivy League player has scored this season and stood as the first 35-point game for a Crimson player since Chris Ledlum '23 netted 35 points at Cornell on Feb. 18, 2023. Hinton eclipsed the 30-point plateau for the second time on the season and for the third time in his career. In the second half alone, he netted 31 points on 10-of-15 field goals and 11-of-12 free throws with four old-fashioned 3-point plays. Hinton scored the Crimson's final 21 points on the night against the Minutemen.
Hinton captured an Ivy League weekly honor for the ninth time in his career after tying the conference record with eight Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards as a first-year in 2024-25.
