Men’s Golf Opens 2025 Spring Season at Savannah Intercollegiate

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – February 11, 2025 – Harvard men's golf will begin its four-tournament 2025 Spring season this weekend when it travels to the Georgia to compete in the Savannah Intercollegiate. The Crimson competed at the event a year ago in 2024 and will now return to play in the 54-hole event this weekend on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 15-16).

Notes and Storylines

  • Harvard has played at the Savannah Intercollegiate – hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) – once before in program history, a year ago in 2024.
  • The Crimson placed second in the event, posting a team score of two-under-par.

Breaking Down the Stats

The Crimson played in four tournaments during its Fall season, completing 11 rounds across the schedule. First-year, William Ma, comes into the event with a team-low scoring average of 72.7 across 11 rounds played. Ma has posted three top-20 finishes in the four Fall Tournaments with a high finish of second-place at the Glen Arbor Invite.
 
Ma is closely trailed by first-year Barry Zhang and senior Jeff Fang, who both own scoring averages of 72.8 on the season.
 

Up Next

The Crimson will be back in action on March 28-30 for its Spring break trip to North Carolina to compete in the Cutter Creek Invitational, co-hosted by Elon and East Caroline University. Harvard will make its return to the Cutter Creek Golf Club to compete in the field for the second year in a row.
