HANCOCK, Vt. and RIPTON, Vt. – Junior
Luke Kearing posted an 11
th-place finish in men's giant slalom – his second top-11 finish of the weekend – as Harvard University skiing wrapped up the Middlebury Carnival on day two on Saturday.
In alpine action at the Middlebury Snowbowl, Kearing paced the Crimson with his 11
th place finish in men's giant slalom while first-years
Duncan Armstrong (27
th, men's giant slalom) and
Emma Lenoël Quang (28
th, women's giant slalom) also posted top-30 finishes. On Friday in men's slalom, Kearing (eighth), senior
Matt Ryan (12
th), and Armstrong (17
th) all posted top-20 finishes. Behind its three top-20 finishers, the Crimson's men's contingent came in fifth place as a team in men's slalom with the group totaling 85 points – just one point behind UNH.
The Crimson enjoyed two weekends of solid skiing as the staff at the Middlebury Snowbowl worked to prepare the hill following heavy snow fall. Kearing paced the Crimson on a difficult hill to ski fast on given the conditions.
In nordic competition at the Rikert Outdoor Center, sophomore
Breagh Bridge came in 24
th in the women's 10k classic to lead the Crimson. On Friday in the sprint classic, senior
Tali Wong (31
st) led the women's side while first-year
Elias Soulé (32
nd) paced the men's team.
As a team, Harvard came in ninth place out of 14 EISA schools with 303 points.
Harvard Highlights: Alpine Day 2
- Junior Luke Kearing paced Harvard for the second straight day, placing 11th in the men's giant slalom with a 2:00.50 (1:00.30 run one, 1:00.20 run two) for 30 EISA points and 24 NCAA points. He notched his second top-11 finish of the weekend, third top-20 finish of the year, and fourth top-30 effort of the season.
- First-year Duncan Armstrong placed 27th in men's giant slalom with a 2:01.72 (1:00.65 run one, 1:01.07 run two), for 18 EISA points and four NCAA points. He tallied his eighth top-30 finish of the season.
- First-year Emma Lenoël Quang led the women's side with a season-best 28th place finish in women's giant slalom. She clocked a 2:06.95 (1:03.47 run one, 1:03.48 run two) for 17 EISA points and three NCAA points.
Harvard Highlights: Nordic Day 2
- Sophomore Breagh Bridge finished a season-best 24th in the women's 10k classic, clocking a 31:20.7 for 22 EISA points and seven NCAA points. She notched her second top-30 finish of the season.
- First-year Bennett Hutchison led the men's side with a 56th-place finish (27:32.8, 10 EISA points) in the men's 10k classic.
Harvard Highlights: Alpine Day 1
- Junior Luke Kearing posted a season-best eighth-place finish in men's slalom, notching his first top-10 effort of the year and third top-30 showing. He clocked a time of 1:32.90 (45.41 run one, 47.49 run two) for 33 EISA points and 32 NCAA points.
- Senior Matt Ryan came in a season-best 12th place in men's slalom, tallying his third top-20 finish of the year and fifth top-30 effort. Ryan placed fifth in run two as part of his effort. He notched a 1:33.22 (46.25 run one, 46.97 run two) on the day for 28 EISA points and 22 NCAA points.
- First-year Duncan Amstrong placed 17th in men's slalom behind a 1:33.42 (45.68 run one, 47.74 run two) for 24 EISA points and 14 NCAA points. He posted his sixth top-20 finish of the year and seventh top-30.
- First-year Emma Speiser paced the women's side with a 35th-place finish (1:42.01, 51.82 run one, 50.19 run two) for 15 EISA point).
- Behind its three top-20 finishers, the Crimson's men's contingent came in fifth place as a team in men's slalom with the group totaling 85 points.

- In the women's sprint classic, senior Tali Wong (31st place, 4:14.63, 18 EISA points), sophomore Clara Lake (33rd place, 4:15.04, 16 EISA points), and sophomore Breagh Bridge (42nd place, 4:14.58, 12 EISA points) paced the Crimson.
- First-year Elias Soulé led the men's side in the sprint classic, placing 32nd with a time of 3:33.87 for 17 EISA points and two NCAA points.
