Men’s Tennis Starts Quest for Fourth Straight Ivy Title Against Dartmouth

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 14 Harvard men's tennis will begin Ivy League play this weekend as it travels to Dartmouth on Sunday, March 30, at 2:00 p.m. ET in Hanover, N.H.

What to Know

  • Harvard has clinched at least a share of the Ivy League title in each of the last three seasons. This season, the Crimson will be chasing their fourth straight conference crown and the 34th in program history.

  • The Crimson enter conference play with a 13-4 overall record. All of Harvard's losses have come against teams ranked inside the ITA Division I Men's Tennis top 20.

  • Harvard completed its non-conference slate this past week, traveling to California for a trio of matches. During its spring break trip, the Crimson went 2-1, defeating San Diego State and No. 45 UC Irvine while falling to No. 6 University of San Diego.

  • In the most recent ITA Division I Men's Tennis Rankings, Daniel Milavsky (No. 27) and Benjamin Privara (No. 105) represented the Crimson in the singles poll. Harvard also had two doubles pairs—Privara and Masato Perera, as well as Milavsky and David Lins—ranked No. 14 and No. 89, respectively. As a team, Harvard remained in the top 15 at No. 14.

  • Milavsky has reached a career-high individual ranking while going 12-3 at the top singles spot. In his most recent match, the senior added another ranked win to his résumé, defeating the No. 58 nationally ranked singles player in straight sets.

  • Perera has had a strong junior campaign, tallying the most singles wins of any Crimson player with 15, while also holding a solid 14-7 record in doubles action.

  • Valdemar Pape has consistently played in the middle of the singles lineup for Harvard this season, accumulating 14 wins so far. Also excelling in doubles, the junior holds the most doubles victories on the team with a 16-8 record.

  • Harvard boasts a dominant 77-11 all-time record against the Big Green and will look to secure its fourth straight victory over Dartmouth this weekend.

Harvard will remain on the road next weekend as it travels to Princeton and Penn on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, respectively.
