CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 6 Harvard men's squash team continued the action at the CSA Team National Championships this afternoon with a victory over No. 7 Drexel in the Potter Cup consolation bracket. The Crimson emerged with a 6-3 win over the Dragons to move into the fifth-place game tomorrow afternoon where it will face off against the No. 8 Columbia Lions.
How it Happened
The Crimson opened an early lead in the first wave after Denis GIlevskiy and
Tate Harms recorded back-to-back wins at twos and sixes, respectively. Both members of the Crimson won their matches, 3-0 to put Harvard in front early.
Segev Rome completed the frist-wave sweep with a 3-1 victory at sevens.
Conner Stoltz held a 1-0 lead before his opponent was forced to withdraw, giving Stoltz a 1-0 win and the fourth Crimson victory of the afternoon. Drexel fought back with a win at nines but its comeback hopes were short lived as
David Costales clinched the match for Harvard with a hard-fought 3-0 win at the top of the Crimson lineup. Costales took care of business in his bout, winning 11-9, 11-8, 11-8, to put the Crimson over the top and in the win column.
Neel Joshi led off the final wave with a victory before Drexel took the final two matches of the contest to bring the final score to 6-3 in favor of the Crimson.
