COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With only eight days until the 2025 season starts in California, six Harvard field hockey standouts garnered a spot on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's Watch List, a comprehensive list showcasing student-athletes with the strongest potential to earn NFHCA All-Region and NFHCA All-America honors later this year.
One of the top defensive talents in the nation, senior defender
Bronte-May Brough enters her final season in Cambridge with 20 goals, 10 assists and 50 points in 53 starts. A fixture for a Crimson defense that led the Ivy League in goals against average (1.05) and scoring margin (1.48) during the 2024 season. A native of Uttoxeter, England, Brough is only the second student-athlete in program history to earn NFHCA All-America honors three times, joining
Bente van Vlijmen '20.
The Crimson's leading goal scorer during the 2023 and 2024 campaigns, junior midfielder
Lara Beekhuis looks to power a Crimson offense that led the Ivy League in scoring with 53 goals last season. Across 40 appearances in two seasons, Beekhuis owns 20 goals, four assists and 44 points.
A rising star for the Crimson, sophomore midfielder
Tilly Butterworth earns NFHCA Watch List honors for the first time in her career. A native of Norwich, England, Butterworth appeared in every match last season, including 14 starts. Butterworth played a key role in Harvard's six shutouts during the 2024 season.
One of the Crimson's team captains this season, senior midfielder
Kitty Chapple has started every game of her Crimson career, tallying six goals, 12 assists and 24 points in 56 appearances. Last season saw Chapple tally a pair of goals and a pair of assists, including the opening goal in Harvard's 2-1 overtime win against Princeton at the 2024 Ivy League Tournament. Chapple is a three-time All-Ivy League honoree and earned NFHCA Northeast All-Region status during the 2023 and 2022 campaigns.
The Most Outstanding Player at the 2024 Ivy League Tournament, sophomore midfielder
Martha le Huray looks to build off an incredible debut season. le Huray made 19 appearances last season, scoring two goals and collecting five assists, as she ranked second on the team in assists. A native of Teddington, England, le Huray earned Ivy League All-Tournament honors after scoring the overtime winner against Princeton in the final.
A top attacking threat in the Ivy League, junior forward
Sage Piekarski enters her third season in Cambridge with 17 goals, five assists and 39 points across 40 career appearances. Piekarski is a two-time All-Ivy League selection and garnered NFHCA Northeast All-Region Second Team honors last year.
Harvard opens the 2025 season out west, taking on California on Friday, Sept. 5. The match is scheduled for a 9 p.m. eastern standard time start and will air live on ACC Network Extra.
