CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising sophomore
Niki Piovan has been named to the Greece National Junior Team ahead of the World Aquatics Women's U20 Water Polo Championships in Salvador, Brazil.
Competition is set to begin on Sunday with Piovan and the Greeks slated to face off against Hungary, the United States, and Italy in pool play.
Piovan helped lead the Crimson to its first-ever CWPA Championship in her rookie campaign after netting 58 goals and adding 48 assists ahead of Harvard's first trip to the NCAA Tournament last season. Being named the CWPA Rookie of the Tournament after a 10-8 overtime win against Princeton, Piovan also became just the fourth Crimson to win CWPA Rookie of the Year in program history.
Piovan earned a spot on the CWPA First-Team as well for her incredible play during the regular season.
