CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (0-5) will wrap up its non-conference slate this weekend as it heads down the road to Chestnut Hill to compete at the Eagle Classic.
The Crimson will open the tournament against the host Boston College (9-0) on Thursday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. ET inside the Margot Connell Recreation Center and on ACCNX. Harvard will then face two other New England foes in Bryant (3-7) on Sept. 19 at 4:00 p.m. ET and Stonehill (1-9) on Sept. 20 at 5:00 p.m. ET to conclude the first portion of the 2025 season.
What to Know
- The Crimson is seeking its first win at the Eagle Classic after falling in two tight matches against Washington State and Seton Hall this past weekend.
- Ali Farquhar had a strong showing at the Harvard Invitational, totaling 25 kills while hitting at a .350 clip, four digs, and five blocks to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
- In her first collegiate season, Sofia Rossi is leading the Crimson in kills (60) and points (71.5). The first-year's kills per set average of 3.16 ranks sixth in the Ivy League.
- Brynne Faltinsky and Farquhar, two of the Crimson's top returning attackers, are also making big offensive contributions by averaging 2.67 and 2.63 kills per set, respectively.
- Taylor Larkin has been a strong presence at the net to start her sophomore campaign. The Houston, Texas native is averaging 1.32 blocks per set which ranks first in the conference and eighth nationally.
- Rossi, Nicole Cornell, and Sophia Wei have each tallied seven aces so far this season for a Crimson squad that ranks third in the Ivy League for aces.
- Harvard is 20-27 all-time against Boston College and is looking to snap a three-match skid against the Eagles.
- The series with Bryant is deadlocked at 2-2, however, the Crimson is looking to snap a two-match losing streak against the Bulldogs.
- Harvard will look to extend its win streak against Stonehill, having beaten the Skyhawks in each of the last two seasons.
