Box Score CAMBRIDGE, MA — Despite a strong start at home, Harvard (2-4-2) couldn't find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss to Dartmouth (4-2-2) on Saturday.
How It Happened
Dartmouth traveled down from Hanover, New Hampshire, to face the Crimson in both teams' first Ivy League conference game — which also marked Harvard's Pride Game. Prior to this match, the Crimson had defeated the Big Green in every meeting since 2018.
Both teams demonstrated defensive strength early on, with Harvard allowing just one shot on goal throughout the first half. Possession remained fairly even, but Dartmouth finally broke through in the 75th minute, capitalizing on a rare defensive lapse from the Crimson.
Harvard created several promising chances but was unable to convert, as Dartmouth's goalkeeper made key stops to preserve the shutout.
Rhiannon Stewart faced six shots and kept Harvard in the game for much of the match. Anna Rayhill and Jasmine Leshnick each registered four shots, but the Crimson couldn't break through the Big Green defense.
Harvard Highlights
The Crimson will look to bounce back next weekend against Princeton. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27.
