CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (1-7) toppled Stonehill (1-13) in a convincing 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-19) fashion in its non-conference finale.
How it Happened
The Skyhawks took early control with a 9-4 lead but once the Crimson settled in, the first set was all Harvard. While trailing 13-12, the Crimson exploded on an 8-0 run to go up 19-13. Harvard held off any attempted Stonehill runs, winning the opening set, 25-18.
The Crimson continued its strong play in the second, forcing an early Stonehill timeout as it grew a 9-3 advantage. Harvard's dominant efforts remained throughout the entirety of the set as it downed the Skyhawks again while only allowing 10 points total.
Harvard successfully closed out the sweep as it won the third set 25-19. After a 3-0 run gave the Crimson an early 7-4 lead, it never again relinquished control. Harvard continued to push further ahead throughout the set, eventually clinching its first win of the 2025 season.
Harvard Highlights
- For the third straight match, Brynne Faltinsky led on the offensive end with 11 kills and an impressive .529 hitting percentage.
- Ali Farquhar also had a strong offensive day, accumulating 10 kills while hitting at a .368 clip.
- Junior captain Yvette Easton tallied a career-high and team-best 10 digs against the Skyhawks.
- Taylor Larkin continues to be a threat at the net, contributing to nine blocks this evening. Additionally, the sophomore had four kills on five attacks.
- Nicole Cornell recorded a career-best four aces.
- Harvard registered double-figure blocks for the third consecutive match, totaling 11 today in the Eagle Classic finale.
