Men’s Golf Opens 2025-26 Season at Rod Myers Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Golf season is officially here as the Harvard men's golf squad prepares to open its 2025-26 season this week. The Crimson's first trip of the season takes them to Durham, North Carolina where it will compete in the 2025 Rod Myers Invitational hosted by Duke at the Duke University Golf Club. An experienced group of returning golfers will mix in with a talented first-year class that will look to continue its climb under 14th year Head Coach, Kevin Rhoads, in 2025-26.

Dates: Friday, September 5 – Sunday, September 7
Format: 54 Holes/three rounds; 18 Holes per round/day. 
Scoring: Five-golfer teams counting the top four scores from each round

Notes and Storylines

  • The Crimson will begin its 2025-26 campaign this weekend after another successful campaign a year ago.
  • Harvard posted a team scoring average of 295.3 during the season that saw them post a head-to-head record of 45-28-1.
  • As a team, the group finished inside the top three in three tournaments including a victory at the Glen Arbor Invite.
  • Rising sophomore, William Ma, led the team with an adjusted scoring average of 73.1 and was closely followed by classmates Barry Zhang (73.9) and Ieuan Jones (75.4). The first-year trio each collected one top-five finish in their rookie seasons.
  • Harvard retooled this offseason with the additions of Isaac Ahn, Reese Jensen and Morgan Riley, who will all join the Harvard class of 2029.
  • Ahn impressed in his last season of junior golf, capturing both the 2025 Minnesota Junior PGA Championship and the Northern Junior Championship in record-breaking fashion.
  • His classmate, Morgan Riley, also captured a tournament victory this Summer after winning Steph Curry's Underrated Tour event at Eisenhower Golf Course.
  • Reese Jensen also made headlines this Summer, advancing to the Round of 32 at the Massachusetts Amateur, defeating the tournament's reigning champion in the process.
  • Jones and Ma were also busy during their first Summer break qualifying for the 2025 United States Amateur Championship at the Olympic Club. The duo both earned entry into the tournament with strong showings at local and regional qualifiers.
 

Up Next

The Crimson will be back in action in two weeks when it travels to Annapolis to compete in The Goat hosted by the United States Naval Academy. Harvard will compete in the field at the Naval Academy Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 21.
