PRINCETON, N.J. – Five student-athletes from the Harvard men's squash team were awarded spots on the All-Ivy League teams this afternoon, including rookie Christian Capella, who was also named the conferences 2025-26 Rookie of the Year. The five Crimson All-Ivy honorees include David Costales and Denis Gilevskiy - who landed on the first team - and Omar Azzam, Christian Capella, and Maddox Moxham who earned spots on the second team. It is the third All-Ivy League First Team placement for Costales, with Gilevskiy earning his second career All-Ivy honor. 

First-year Christian Capella has burst onto the scene and made an instant impact on the Crimson this season. Slotting in at the fourth position on the ladder, the New York native posted an 8-2 record, which helped him earn Rookie of hte Year honors and a spot on the All-Ivy second team. This is the first time a Crimson rookie has captured the award since 2019.

A Senior, David Costales earned his third consecutive Ivy League honor with a spot on the first team this season. A senior captain, Costales won two Ivy League matches at the top position on the Crimson ladder. 

Senior Captain, Denis Gilevskiy has received his second straight All-Ivy honor this season after posting a 5-5 overall record that includes two wins in Ivy League play. In 10 matches this season, Gilevskiy has appeared in the first and second positions for the Crimson. 

Junior Omar Azzam achieved his second All-Ivy team placement with his 8-2 record - and a 4-2 mark in conference play - this season, assuming both the second and third spots on the Crimson ladder. Last month, Azzam competed in the CSA Individual National Championship, where he made an impressive run to the semifinals of the Pool Trophy draw. 

A first-year, Maddox Moxham played his way onto the  All-Ivy second team in his first season with the Crimson. Splitting time at the four and five positions, Moxham accumulated a 6-4 record on the year, with four of those wins coming against Ivy League opponents.

The Harvard Men's Squash Team look set for a rematch against Third ranked Princeton in the Inaugural Ivy League Squash Tournament. The match will take place in Princeton, NJ at Princeton University at 10 AM, Sat. Feb. 21st. The match will be streamed on the Ivy League Streaming Platform.
