CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis (4-5) will continue its non-conference slate this weekend against Southeast Missouri State and Memphis in Tennessee. The Crimson will kick off the back-to-back against the Redhawks on Saturday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. ET and take on Memphis the following day at 11:00 a.m. ET.
What to Know
- The Crimson have started the season 4-5 and most recently fell in a battle against Big 12 foe Baylor in Cambridge.
- Kavya Karra and Stephanie Yakoff, who are currently the No. 42 ranked doubles team in the nation, recorded the sole win of the day at the top doubles spot. The duo defeated Zuzanna Kubacha and Neda Rahimkhani (Baylor) with a convincing 6-2 result.
- Karra and Yakoff are a perfect 6-0 in dual matches and 12-3 overall in 2025-26. Individually, Karra has the team's best doubles record at 18-4 for the season.
- In singles, the two juniors are also leading the way for the Crimson. Yakoff, who has played all her matches at the top singles spot has a team-best 14-2 record. Karra follows closely behind with a 12-5 overall record.
- With her strong play, Yakoff represents Harvard in the ITA Division I Women's Singles Rankings, checking in at No. 66 in the nation.
- Claire Shao is the third Harvard player with double-digit singles wins with a record of 10-6 in her first year with the Crimson. After starting the dual season 0-3, Shao went 3-0 at the ECAC Championships and won the opening set in an unfinished match against Baylor.
- Andra Braicu is a strong 4-1 in the dual season while competing at the No. 6 singles spot.
- This will be the first ever meeting between Southeast Missouri State and Harvard.
- Sunday's matchup will be the third meeting between Harvard and Memphis. Either team has won one meeting with the Crimson winning the first 4-1 in 2019 and the Tigers returning the favor with a 4-1 victory in 2025.
