Ryan Mooney posted a double and an RBI at the plate, but Harvard University baseball fell to Tulane University, 7-3, in its season opener on Friday night at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

Competing for the first time in 2026, the Crimson (0-1) pulled within 3-2 with a pair of runs in the top of the third before the host Green Wave (3-2) – playing in its second weekend of the season – plated four of the game's final five runs on its way to the decision.

How It Happened
- Tulane scored the game's first two runs with a pair in the bottom of the second to move ahead 2-0 before adding a run in the last of the second to take a 3-0 edge.
- The Crimson countered with two runs in the top of the third, narrowing the difference to 3-2. Sophomore Gavin Smith and senior Jordan Kang each brought in a run with an RBI single.
- The Green Wave moved its margin to 5-2 with two runs in the bottom of the third.
- A sacrifice fly from junior Ryan Mooney brought Harvard back within 5-3 in the top of the fifth.
- The hosts tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to move ahead 7-3.Â
