CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University skiing alumnus Rémi Drolet '24 completed a successful second appearance at the Winter Olympics, competing in four events at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games for Team Canada in cross-country skiing.
Drolet took part in four events at the Games, placing 42
nd in the men's 10km + 10km skiathlon on Feb. 8, finishing 56
th in the men's sprint classic on Feb. 10, taking 19
th place in the men's 10km interval start freestyle on Feb. 13, and finishing in fifth place in the men's 4x7.5km relay.
Opening his time at the Games with the men's 10km + 10km skiathlon, Drolet clocked a time of 50:22.0 for 42
nd in a field of 75 competitors before coming in 56
th out of 95 racers in the men's sprint classic with a 3:27.72 in the qualification round.
In his top individual finish at Milano Cortina, Drolet placed 19
th in the men's 10km interval start freestyle with a time of 21:50.8, steadily moving up the rankings over the course of the 10km in a field of 113 athletes.
In his final event of the Games, Drolet helped Team Canada place fifth in the men's 4x7.5km relay with a total time of 1:05:36.8, trailing only Norway, France, Italy, and Finland. Drolet took the third leg for Team Canada in the event, competing in freestyle.
Now a two-time Olympian after also competing for Team Canada at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Drolet concluded a decorated career at Harvard in 2024 finishing his time with the Crimson as a three-time All-American, three-time NCAA qualifier, and 2023 NCAA Champion. He garnered NCAA Today's Top 10 honors in November of 2024 for his exceptional accomplishments in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.
As a senior in 2024, Drolet captured First Team All-America accolades with a fourth-place finish in the men's 20k classic at the NCAA Championships. He also garnered First Team All-EISA, Team MVP, CSC Academic All-District, and Academic All-Ivy laurels.
During the 2023 season, Drolet won the men's 20k classic at the NCAA Championships for First Team All-America honors and took seventh place in the men's 10k freestyle for Second Team All-America plaudits. He collected both CSC Academic All-America and CSC Academic All-District accolades.
Drolet earned EISA Nordic Rookie of the Year and qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2020 before the 2021 season was canceled due to COVID-19. He then took a leave from collegiate skiing during the 2022 season to compete for Team Canada at the Olympics.
