Skiing Trio Set for 2026 NCAA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University skiing sophomore Duncan Armstrong (men's alpine), senior Luke Kearing (men's alpine), and junior Meredith Schwartz (women's nordic) are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Championships from March 11-14 with alpine events at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah and nordic events at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah.

  • The 2026 NCAA Championships will take place from March 11-14 with alpine events at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah and nordic events at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah. The championship's schedule of events will include giant slalom on March 11, the 7.5k classic on March 12, slalom on March 13, and the 20k freestyle on March 14. The University of Utah will serve as the event host.
  • The event's alpine schedule opens with the giant slalom on Wednesday, March 11 with the women's first run at 11:00 a.m. ET (9:00 a.m. MT), the men's first run at noon ET (10:00 a.m. MT), the women's second run at 2:15 p.m. ET (12:15 p.m. MT), and the men's second run at 3:15 p.m. ET (1:15 p.m. MT).
  • Alpine action concludes with the slalom on Friday, March 13 with the women's first run at 11:00 a.m. ET (9:00 a.m. MT), the men's first run at 11:45 a.m. ET (9:45 a.m. MT), the women's second run at 1:45 p.m. ET (11:45 a.m. MT) and the men's second run at 2:45 p.m. ET (12:45 p.m. MT).
  • Nordic competition begins with the 7.5k classic individual start on Thursday, March 12 with the men's race at 11:00 a.m. ET (9:00 a.m. MT) and the women's race at 12:30 p.m. ET (10:30 a.m. MT)
  • Nordic action closes with the 20k freestyle mass start on Saturday, March 14 with the women's race at 11:00 a.m. ET (9:00 a.m. MT) and the men's race at 12:30 p.m. ET (10:30 a.m. MT).
  • Armstrong will compete at the NCAA Championships for the second straight season. During the EISA season, he tallied 10 top-30 finishes, nine top-20 showings, and four top-10 efforts. He notched a season-best second-place finish in the giant slalom at the Middlebury Carnival/NCAA Regional Championships for his first collegiate podium. In the EISA NCAA rankings, he stood seventh in the giant slalom, 25th in the slalom, and 11th overall.
  • Kearing will make his debut at the NCAA Championships in his final season. During the EISA season, he tallied six top-30 finishes, five top-20 showings, and one top-10 effort. He notched a season-best fifth-place finish in the slalom at the Middlebury Carnival/NCAA Regional Championships. In the EISA NCAA rankings, he stood 30th in the giant slalom, 12th in the slalom, and 22nd overall.
  • Schwartz will also make her debut at NCAAs in her first full competitive collegiate season. During the EISA season, she tallied seven top-30 finishes, three top-20 showings, and one top-10 effort. She notched a season-best seventh-place finish in the sprint classic at the Vermont Carnival. In the EISA NCAA rankings, she stood 31st in the freestyle, 16th in the classic, and 20th overall.
  • Harvard has qualified student-athletes for the NCAA Championships in eight consecutive competitive seasons (2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026). The nordic side has qualified participants in each of those eight seasons while the alpine team has sent student-athletes to NCAAs in each of the last six competitive seasons (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026).
  • In program history, Harvard has sent student-athletes to the NCAA Championships in each of 25 seasons (1964, 1965, 1967, 1969, 1988, 1992, 1995, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026). The Crimson has qualified student-athletes for NCAAs 14 times since 2011.
  • NCAA participants – 74 men and 74 women – are selected on a regional basis from two designated regions for alpine skiing (East and West Regions) and three designated regions for nordic skiing (Central, East and West Regions). Bids are awarded to regions using a formula determined by the skiing committee. A maximum of 12 student-athletes (three per gender per discipline) may be selected from an institution.

  • Scott MacPherson – The Peter H. Carter '69 Head Coach for Harvard Alpine Skiing – stands in his ninth season at the helm of the alpine program in 2025-26. While at Harvard, MacPherson has twice earned EISA Coach of the Year honors (2019-20, 2022-23).
  • Cate Brams – The Paul J. Finnegan Family Head Coach for Harvard Nordic Skiing – stands in their second season as the leader of the Crimson's nordic program in 2025-26.
