ITHACA, NY. - Men's hockey was shutout by No. 9 Cornell 4-0 on Saturday night to set up a game three on Sunday afternoon with the winner heading to Lake Placid.
The only ECAC quarterfinal series to head to the all decisive third game, Harvard will look to clinch its spot in Lake Placid for the first time since 2022-23.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cornell jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period to take control of the game. Netting their first goal off a strange angle, the Big Red were able to ride the momentum and add another goal after some chaos in the crease.
Heikki Ruohonen had the best chance of the period for the Crimson after hitting the post on an odd-man rush.
Cornell led 12-5 in shots after the opening twenty minutes of action.
The Big Red picked up where they left off in the second adding their third of the game on a 2 on 1. Going post to post, Charette had no chance as Cornell took a commanding lead in game two.
Cornell scored on the power-play to take a 4-0 lead to set up game three on Sunday.
