CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Battling through a steady storm of rain and wind, the No. 4 Harvard men's lacrosse team leaned on poise and timely execution to secure a gritty 17–14 victory at Jordan Field. How It Happened
- The Crimson welcomed the Big Green to Jordan Field tonight in a Friday night Ivy League tilt. The first of three games in nine days for the Crimson, the team was looking to ride the wave of its momentum heading into its second Ivy League game of 2026 this evening.
- Nate Cobery got the Crimson going with a goal on the team's first possession, but Dartmouth quickly answered, beginning the back-and-forth scoring run in the contest. Cobery and Logan Ip fought back for the Crimson, scoring on the team's next two chances.
- The Dartmouth defense held strong in the middle of the quarter, giving its offense room to level the score with back-to-back goals. Cobery continued to have a stellar quarter to help the Crimson respond. The sophomore completed his first-quarter hat trick to retake the lead before feeding Ip on the doorstep for a goal that made the score 5-3 after one quarter.
- A strike from Jack Speidell led off the second quarter, making the score 6-3, but Dartmouth clawed all the way back. The Big Green used a four-goal run to take a 7-6 lead late in the second quarter. John Aurandt IV leveled the score at 7-7, but Dartmouth once again responded to take an 8-7 lead into the halftime break.
- Malone, Aurandt IV, and Speidell potted goals before Andrew Perry got on the scoresheet with a laser on the man-up to contribute to a 4-1 Harvard scoring run at the start of the third quarter. Dartmouth got back to level with a two-goal mini run, making the score 11-11 after 45 minutes of action.
- The Crimson got the boost it was looking for at the beginning of the fourth quarter, courtesy of sophomore Michael Savadove. The long pole scooped up a loose ground ball off a caused turnover from Owen Guest before running the length of the field and scoring his first collegiate goal. The strike ignited the Crimson bench and sent Jordan Field into a frenzy.
- After another Dartmouth tally to level the score, Teddy Malone etched his name into the Harvard record book, scoring his 100th career goal to put Harvard back on top. The tally helped him move into 10th place all-time on the Harvard scoring list and - more importantly - put his team on top, 13-12.
- The tension began to grow following the Malone goal, but Ip managed to cut through a relentless Dartmouth defense to score his third goal of the game and put the Crimson up 14-12 with 8:30 to go in the contest. Dartmouth got within one after scoring its 13th goal of the night, but Harvard would go on a run to push the Big Green aside and secure the win.
- Harvard's game-winning run began with three consecutive defensive stops. One came from a Savadove caused turnover, another from a Dartmouth tipped pass, and finally a big-time save from Graham Stevens. Cobery scored off the Stevens save to give Harvard control down the stretch. Ip and Aurandt provided insurance goals to put the Crimson in the driver's seat late in the contest.
- Dartmouth would sneak one more shot over the line, but it did not matter in the end as Harvard pulled away with a 17-14 victory at Jordan Field to remain undefeated in 2026.
