OSHAWA, Ontario – Following a stellar showing last Summer at the World Lacrosse U20 Championships,
Wyatt Wiggins has been called on by his nation again. This time around, Wiggins will represent the senior Canadian National Team during the inaugural Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship. The tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship, is set for August 16-23 in Kingston, Jamaica.
Wiggins joins a 22-man squad that is comprised of both top collegiate and professional talent. This will be the Harvard rising senior's first time representing the senior team in international competition. Previously, Wiggins was a part of the historic Canada U20 National Team, that upset the United States to claim the Gold Medal at the 2025 World Lacrosse U20 Championships. Wiggins played solid defense for the Canadians throughout the tournament, helping the unit cause 38 turnovers and allow just 30 goals in six games during the team's gold medal run.
The Pan-American Championship will serve as the continental qualifier for the World Championship next Summer. 16 teams will make the field, and Canada hopes to be among the top five teams at the Pan-American championship who will earn qualification to compete in the world championship field.
