Men’s Lacrosse Competes at the 10th Annual Bob Kemp Lacrosse Class

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The program recently wrapped up an extraordinary long weekend in Washington, D.C., combining high-level athletic competition at the Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic with immersive cultural, professional, and civic experiences. The trip was highlighted by a competitive and successful match up against Navy with a Sunday scrimmage at Georgetown Prep.

The weekend provided a developed and engaging experience that balanced competitive play, career development, and community engagements. The Crimson kicked off their trip Saturday (10/10) morning with an alumni networking event. Giving student athletes an invaluable opportunity to engage with alumni, gain career insights, and draw inspiration from Harvard's immense network. The team then held a practice at Washington Jesuit Academy, spending time taking photos and signing autographs for fans who came out to watch.

Off the field, student-athletes had the distinct privilege Saturday afternoon of visiting the United States Supreme Court for a tour led by Justice Brett Kavanaugh. This was followed by a walkthrough of the U.S. Capitol building and its historic surroundings. The afternoon offered a unique perspective into American history, leading to end of the night where the team gathered for a dinner at Carmine's in downtown D.C.

On Sunday (10/11), the men's team delivered a competitive performance in a scrimmage against the Navy Academy; this was concluded with post-game fan engagements. The Crimson concluded their stay with a reflective tour of the National Mall: visiting the Lincoln, World War II, Vietnam Veterans, and Korean War Veterans Memorials.

The Fall Experience schedule will conclude with the fifth annual BBQ Bowl on Friday, November 20. The team will divide into teams of six to play sixes, a fast-paced format of lacrosse that includes constant movement and action.

Harvard Lacrosse looks to marry its nearly 150-year-old lacrosse tradition with its globally renowned academic legacy to create the most compelling & enriching experience in Division I athletics.
