CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's tennis (10-8) will travel to South Florida on Sunday, March 29, for its final non-conference match. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m. ET in Tampa, Florida.
What to Know
- The Crimson is 10-8 so far this season and most recently went 1-2 on its California spring break trip. The Crimson started strong with a 4-3 win over San Diego State but then suffered two tough losses against ranked opponents in San Diego and UC Santa Barbara.
- Harvard remained inside the top 50 in the most recent ITA Division I Men's Team Rankings.
- In his first season in Cambridge, Nathan Blokhin is leading the Crimson in wins in singles with an overall record of 18-7. Blokhin has played primarily at the three spot for Harvard.
- Rohan Murali is having a breakout season and has recently moved into the top singles spot for Harvard. The junior has an overall record of 17-8, including 11-5 during the dual season.
- In the most recent ITA Division I Men's Singles rankings, Murali checked in at No. 84. Benjamin Privara also ranks nationally as the No. 112 singles player in the country.
- Privara – the former Ivy League Rookie of the Year – has competed primarily at the top two singles spots for the Crimson this season.
- In doubles, Murali and Kolos Kincses have been dominant for Harvard. The duo has an overall record of 18-4 and is a strong 13-2 while playing primarily at the No. 2 spot in dual matches.
- Individually, Kincses leads Harvard with 21 doubles wins in his first year with the Crimson. Murali has nearly hit 20 wins as well with a record of 19-5.
- Harvard and South Florida are tied 2-2 in the all-time series. Despite being deadlocked in the all-time history, the Crimson has a two-match win streak against the Bulls. The Crimson won 5-2 in 2007 and most recently, 4-3 in 2018.
