Jack Rickheim hit the go-ahead homer in game one before adding two doubles in game two, as Harvard University baseball split an Ivy League doubleheader with Cornell University on Saturday afternoon, winning 2-1 in game one prior to falling 9-4 in game two, on Sunday afternoon at Booth Field.

Playing in its second conference weekend of the season, the Crimson (3-15, 2-3 Ivy) broke a 1-1 tie in game one behind Rickheim's go-ahead solo home run in the eighth to take the series opener before the Big Red (4-14, 2-3 Ivy) held off the visitors' comeback attempts in game two.

In game one, Colasante – earning the win for the second time in as many Ivy starts – threw 8.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and no walks with four strikeouts while Gable captured the save for the second time in as many Ivy appearances, tossing a scoreless ninth. Rickheim blasted his second homer of the year and fourth of his career while sophomore catcher
Liam Wilson registered his team-high fourth double of the year.

In game two, Colasante went 3-for-4 in the game with two RBIs and a double, Rickheim finished 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and an RBI, and first-year designated hitter
Matthew Witkow added an RBI double as the Crimson matched a season high with four doubles as a team.
Game 1: Harvard 2, Cornell 1

Brett Gable combined to record the game's final six outs against the host Big Red.

How It Happened
- Following four scoreless frames, the Crimson struck first in the top of the fifth as Wilson lifted an RBI double to left center to plate Lane.
- The Big Red knotted the score at 1-1 with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.
- After another two scoreless innings, Rickheim broke the tie in the top of the eighth, launching a solo home run to left center to put the Crimson up 2-1.
- Gable came on for the final three outs in the ninth to earn the save, inducing a pair of groundouts alongside a strikeout.Â
Game 2: Cornell 9, Harvard 4

How It Happened
- Harvard struck first as Colasante sent an RBI single up the middle to plate Rickheim and give the Crimson a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
- Cornell responded with three runs in the bottom of the first to move ahead 3-1.
- The Crimson cut the edge to one in the top of the third as Witkow drove an RBI double to right center to bring home Rickheim and bring the Crimson within 3-2.
- The Big Red plated another three runs in the last of the third to move ahead 6-2.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the hosts tacked on another run to make the margin 7-2.
- Harvard answered with two runs in the top of the seventh as both Rickheim and Colasante hit RBI doubles to left center to bring the visitors within 7-4.
- The Big Red plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh behind a two-run home run, moving ahead 9-4.Â
