Cambridge, Mass. – Harvard Men's Volleyball (5-10, 2-4 EIVA) earned a straight-set victory over American International College (1-10, 0-0 ECC) on Friday evening at Malkin Athletic Center, defeating the Yellow Jackets 25–17, 25–20, 25–21.
How It Happened
The Crimson offense operated efficiently throughout the match, finishing with 35 kills while adding 3 service aces, 20 block assists, and 28 digs.
Harvard opened the match with a confident offensive rhythm, defeating AIC 25–17 in the first set behind 13 kills while hitting .286 as the attack quickly found its groove. The Crimson grabbed control early and dictated the pace throughout the frame, holding the lead from the opening points and preventing AIC from gaining momentum.
The Crimson followed with their most efficient stretch of the match in the second set, securing a 25–20 win while hitting .333 with 11 kills and just four errors. With scoring spread across the lineup, Harvard maintained steady pressure and gradually created separation to stay comfortably in front.
Harvard closed out the sweep with a 25–21 victory in the third set, producing another 11 kills while tightening up defensively at the net. Timely blocks and key stops stalled AIC's attempts to mount a late comeback, allowing the Crimson to seal the straight-sets win.
