In the second race of the morning, the Harvard varsity got a quick burst from the start and led wire-to-wire over the Huskies. NU was able to maintain contact throughout the race, but Harvard won by more than three-quarters of a boat in a course-record 5:28.21 to 5:31.14. The win marked the 42nd all-time Smith Cup victory for Harvard and 27th in a row dating back to 1998.

Harvard's second varsity boat reached the Harvard Bridge first with Northeastern maintaining contact through to the other side. The Crimson boat, the No. 1 ranked 2V boat in the country, pulled away to an open-water victory in 5:32.64, while the Huskies crossed in 5:36.82.

Harvard raced its 4V and 5V boats in the first competition of the day. HUBC's top boat in the flight and Northeastern's 4V were in a tightly contested race with Harvard pulling in front for a win by a nose length in 5:50.20 to the Huskies' 5:50.95.

In the finale, Harvard's No. 1 3V had a five-seat lead entering the bridge and nearly rowing in open water shortly thereafter, but NU hung tough to maintain contact in the end. However, tt was the Crimson reaching the finish line first to complete the sweep with a time of 5:40.81. Northeastern's third varsity finished in 5:42.81.
