Sun, Forbes Earn Ivy Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – A pair of Crimson earn Ivy League weekly awards after stellar performances in a series sweep of Cornell on the road over the weekend. Junior infielder Sophie Sun is the Ivy League's Player of the Week while first-year outfielder Sheila Forbes shares Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors with Columbia's Mads Lawson and Yale's Jane Littleton.

Sun was sensational both offensively and defensively for the Crimson against the Big Red, as the Austin, Texas native led the Crimson in batting average (.636), hits (7), RBIs (8), home runs (2) and slugging percentage (1.364) to go along with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. The series finale saw Sun orchestrate a historic day at the plate, driving in seven runs with a career high four hits, highlighted by hitting the Crimson's first grand slam of the season in the second inning.

A native of Naples, Florida, Forbes is the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. Forbes continued to pace and set the table for the Crimson offense this weekend in upstate New York, tallying a .556 batting average with five hits, four runs and a team-best .692 on base percentage. Across 27 appearances this season, Forbes leads Harvard with a .484 on-base percentage and ranks third with a .377 batting average.

Harvard continues its 2026 campaign this weekend, taking on Brown in a three-game series on Saturday, Apr. 11 and Sunday, Apr. 12.
