Women’s Tennis Continues Ivy League Play Against Brown, Yale

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis (10-8, 0-3 Ivy) will host Brown (14-6, 1-2 Ivy) and travel to No. 58 Yale (15-3, 2-1 Ivy) in its penultimate Ivy League weekend of the season. The Crimson will open a two-match weekend with its first conference home contest against the Bears on Friday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. ET before returning to the road against Yale on Sunday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The Last Time Out

  • Last weekend, the Crimson dropped a pair of matches to Princeton and Penn.
  • Despite the loss to the Tigers, Harvard battled closely. The Crimson won the doubles point and received victories from Kavya Karra and Natalie Block in singles.
  • Harvard was inches from a win as the deciding match went to three sets on court one.
  • The following day, the Crimson forced three sets on four of six singles courts and got a point from Claire Shao on court two.

Individual Notes

  • Kavya Karra has accumulated the most singles and doubles wins of any Harvard player this season with 19 and 24, respectively.
  • Karra's 24 doubles wins tie Stephanie Yakoff for the most in a season in program history since at least 2009.
  • Karra and Yakoff have totaled 17 wins as a duo, also marking a new program best since at least 2009.
  • The duo is undefeated with 11 wins in the dual season and currently ranks No. 40 nationally.
  • In singles, Yakoff has a record of 18-5 and checks in at No. 86 in the ITA Division I Women's Singles Rankings.
  • Claire Shao has had a strong start to her time in Cambridge, accumulating 14 singles victories and 12 doubles wins in 2025-26. The first-year has primarily played at the No. 3 singles spot and the No. 2 doubles position.

For the Foes

  • The Brown Bears are 14-6 overall and 1-2 in the Ivy League this season.
  • The Bears fell to Yale and Columbia before picking up its first win of the season against Cornell most recently.
  • Harvard is 41-14 all-time against Brown. The Crimson narrowly fell, 4-3, to the Bears in the ECAC Championships earlier this season but defeated Brown in the previous two seasons.
  • The Crimson leads 34-25 in the all-time series versus the Bulldogs.
  • Harvard will look to win its third straight against Yale after defeating them in both the 2024 and 2025 meetings.
  • The Bulldogs are having a strong season with a 15-3 overall record and are currently ranked No. 58 in the ITA team rankings.
  • Yale is also 2-1 in Ivy League play with wins against Brown and Cornell and a loss to Columbia most recently.
