CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing in 2025-26 registered one of the best seasons in program history. Led by a blend of varying experience, the Crimson enjoyed its fair share of success in both the fall and spring.
 
Harvard opened the new academic year with 19 top-5 finishes in the fall, winning seven times, including the ICSA Match Race National Championship, which marked the program's first national crown since 2001. The Crimson also received elite individual performances as junior Robby Meek won the ICSA Open Singlehanded National Championship, securing Harvard's first coed title since 2018. On the women's side senior Sophia Montgomery and sophomore Kate Danielson finished in third and ninth place, respectively, at the women's singlehanded regatta.
 
When spring-season action commenced, Harvard continued to rack up solid performances. As a group, the Crimson registered another 17 top-5 regular-season efforts, with the open team winning seven times in eight weekends. When the postseason rolled around, Harvard answered the bell, capturing its third ICSA Open Team Racing National Championship in four years. The Harvard women's squad, meanwhile, came in fourth place to log its third consecutive top-5 performance, a feat that had not been previously accomplished in the history of the program.
 
Later at fleet race nationals, the Crimson registered its second straight top-3 performance at the women's championship. It marked the first time Harvard finished in the top-3 at the women's regatta in consecutive seasons since 2004 and 2005. The Crimson later closed the campaign with a seventh-place showing at the open fleet race regatta.
 
When the racing stopped, Harvard collected some of the top awards the sport has to offer. For the first time since 2005, the Crimson was the recipient of the Leonard M. Fowle Trophy, which is awarded to the best all-around college sailing team. Senior Justin Callahan, meanwhile, was named the ICSA College Sailor of the Year for the second straight season to become the first Crimson sailor to win the award twice. Callahan also made school history when he was named to the All-America team for the fourth year in a row. The senior was one of a program-record 10 Crimson athletes to be recognized as an All-American. The others included seniors Mitchell Callahan and Montgomery, juniors Christina Chen, JJ Drummond, Rosella Irfan, Meek and Zoey Ziskind, sophomore Danielson, and first-year Jacob Posner.
 
With Harvard expected to return seven of its All-Americans next season, the Crimson is set up to continue its run of success in the years to come.
