CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's heavyweight rowing team meets rival Yale for the 159th racing of the Harvard-Yale Regatta Friday and Saturday on the Thames River in New London, Conn. The races begin Friday evening with the fourth varsity at 5 p.m. as the precursor to a three-race afternoon on Saturday that culminates with the varsity race at 3 p.m. All three Saturday races will be streamed on ESPN+ and YouTube.

The Race
• The first Harvard-Yale race took place in 1852 and has been an annual regatta since 1859. HUBC holds a 97-59 lead all-time.
• Harvard swept all four races against Yale a year ago in Connecticut and won the varsity for the second year in a row. HUBC raced to a win for the Sexton Cup in a time of 21:23.5 on the four-mile course.
• Last weekend, Harvard earned three medals at the IRA National Championship Regatta. The varsity boat was one spot off the podium in fourth.
• HUBC's varsity eight went 4-1 in regular season regattas this season with wins over Cornell, Penn, Navy and Northeastern, a race in which Harvard set a Charles River course record.
