CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving rising sophomore William Mulgrew wrapped up action at the Toyota National Championships on Saturday night in Irvine, California. Mulgrew, who won the 1500-meter freestyle last Tuesday, finished in third on Friday in the 400m free and was the runner-up in Saturday's 800m free.
 
A native of Walpole, Mulgrew posted the third-fastest time in the 400m free, completing the race in 3:47.88. The performance trailed only Luka Mijatovic (3:43.45) and Ryan Erisman (3:44.39).
 
Then on the final night of the Championships, Mulgrew finished the 800m free in 7:45.21, falling less than two seconds shy of the winner, Erisman, who clocked in at 7:43.53. Mijatovic, who was the runner-up to Mulgrew in the 1500m free, came in third place (7:46.57).
 
The gold-silver-bronze performance across Mulgrew's three events at US Nationals comes after he earned Ivy League titles in the 1000 free and 1650 free, and finished in ninth place in the 1650 free at the NCAA Championships, which earned him 2026 CSCAA Second-Team All-America honors. Mulgrew's All-America appointment, meanwhile, was the Crimson's first since 2022.
