CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's soccer senior midfielder,
Ben Kelly, has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Kelly tallied a goal and an assist in the Crimson's season opening victory against UMass last Friday (Aug. 28) to earn the honor.
The Cambridge native started his 2026 campaign off with a bang, scoring Harvard's first goal of the season before assisting on the third goal of the win against the RV Minutemen. His first career Ivy League weekly honor, Kelly now owns five goals, eight assists and 18 points in his career with the Crimson. Kelly's three points against UMass tied a career best for a single game, a total he hit one a year ago. It was also his third career game with two goal contributions. He reached the total in just 57 minutes of playing time.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Jason Broome was also named to the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll after making four saves and recording a win in his collegiate debut against UMass.
The Crimson received five weekly honors in the 2025 season with two of those awards being Offensive Player of the Week nominations.
Harvard will be back in action this evening (Aug. 31) for a match against Notre Dame in South Bend. The Crimson and the Irish will battle in a non-conference clash at 7:30 PM on ACCNX.
