CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (6-0) continues its non-conference schedule with a quick trip to North Andover, Mass., to face Merrimack (0-9) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Sakowich Campus Center. The match can be streamed on ESPN+.
 

What to Know

• Harvard is coming off of a sweep of the UNCW Hampton Inn University Invitational, where it swept UNC Asheville and UNC Wilmington and defeated Norfolk State in four sets.
• Senior Ryleigh Patterson had a stellar weekend during which she logged five solo blocks against UNC Asheville and four against Norfolk State, the most by a single player since 2009 and 2014, respectively. Patterson finished the tournament with 16 kills and 16 blocks and posted a team-high .714 hitting percentage (5-0-7) against UNCW. Patterson was named MVP of the UNCW Tournament.
• Freshman Kayla Nwabueze hit above .275 in each of the three matches, logging .278 (7-2-18) versus UNCA, .389 (9-2-18) against Norfolk State, and .300 (8-2-20) at UNCW. Nwabueze also added two blocks and six digs. Nwabueze was named to the All-Tournament Team for her performance.
• Sophomore Sofia Rossi dominated the weekend from the service line, finishing the tournament with 13 service aces, 10 of which came against Norfolk State. Rossi's 10 aces are the most from a single player since at least 2002. 
• The Crimson served double-digit aces for the third time this season when it posted 15 against Norfolk State. In addition to Rossi's 10 aces, sophomore Bridget Egan served three and junior Riley Resmer and freshman Jordan Shelor each served one. 
• Harvard is 3-0 all-time against Warriors dating back to 2021. The Crimson last won 3-2 over Merrimack on Sept. 7, 2024.

 

Next Up

Harvard rounds out non-conference play with the Harvard Invitational at the Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson welcome Providence on Friday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m., and will face off with Sacred Heart at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. Providence and Sacred Heart play each other at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.
