CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (7-0) will conclude its non-conference schedule when it welcomes Providence and Sacred Heart for the Harvard Invitational from Sept. 18-20 at the Malkin Athletic Center.
Harvard and Providence face off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18. Providence and Sacred Heart will play each other at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, before Harvard rounds out the weekend against Sacred Heart at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. All matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
What to Know
- Harvard is off to its best start in program history and has marked its longest winning streak since 2017.
- Sophomore Sofia Rossi leads the nation in aces per set with 1.08. Rossi is also first in the conference in points per set (4.16) and total service aces (27).
- Senior Ryleigh Patterson is second in the Ivy League and 11th nationally in blocks per set with 1.56. Patterson also checks in at third in the conference and 38th nationally with a .407 hitting percentage.
- The Crimson most recently defeated Merrimack 3-0 in North Andover, Mass. Patterson and Riley Resmer both led the way with .545 and .750 hitting percentages, respectively, and logged six kills apiece with no errors.
- Rossi led all attackers at Merrimack with her 10 kills, while also serving four aces and adding seven digs. Senior Ali Farquhar added nine kills of her own in addition to two blocks and two digs.
- Providence leads all-time meetings with Harvard 9-3. The Crimson are 3-2 all-time against Sacred Heart.
