Bronwen (Kelly) Evans, the former head field hockey coach atMilton Academy and a four-time all-region and all-conferencemidfielder at Boston College, is in her second season as anassistant coach at Harvard in 2009.
Evans coached Milton for two seasons. She was also an assistantathletic director, AP psychology teacher and assistant ice hockeycoach. She was a member of the 2000 Canadian National Junior Teamand went on to earn selection to the National Field Hockey CoachesAssociation All-Northeast Region second team in the first threeyears of her collegiate career. She made the all-region first teamin her senior season of 2005.
Evans captained Boston College for two seasons and recorded 73career points on 24 goals and 25 assists. She ranks fourth inprogram history in assists and is tied for eighth in career points.She helped the Eagles win the 2003 Big East Conferencechampionship, set a school record for wins (17) in 2004 and advanceto three NCAA tournaments.
After sitting out a redshirt year with an injury, Evans startedevery game of her four-year playing career. She was named to theAll-Atlantic Coast Conference team as a senior after three years onthe All-Big East teams. She was an All-Big East first-team pick in2002 and 2004 and a second-team selection in 2003.
A 2005 BC graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Evansearned a master's in developmental and educational psychologyfrom BC in 2006. She garnered numerous academic honors while withthe Eagles. She earned the Athletic Director's Award for AcademicAchievement in 2002 and 2003, earned NFHCA National Academic Squadhonors all four years and was a Big East Academic All-Star in allthree of her seasons in that league.
Evans is a native of Mississasauga, Ontario.
